Adam knows demons.

A traumatic childhood of miss-diagnosed and untreated ADHD, a broken home, sleep paralysis, school bullies and violent sibling rivalry led his mind to dark places. 

At 17, the murder of his great-grandparents and great-aunt by his estranged great-uncle with an axe handle was his first real experience of death. The isolation he already felt at home, compounded by the shock of such a violent and sudden loss, broke him. Adam flunked college and left home. The following years were lost to self-sabotage and spiralling drug use.

Desperate to change, Adam returned to college as an independent student to study Media and Photography, where he won an award and a place at the International Film School of Wales (USW). He excelled and stood out in a large class, writing and directing darkly humorous allegories with his small crew.

Adam achieved his BA in Film and Video Production and promptly won Best Film Under 20 Minutes at the (later scandalised) Swansea Bay Film Festival. His violent Sicilian mafia short, "Primavera", was self-shot on location in Palermo, in Sicilian, with non-actors, emulating Fernando Meirelles' incredible work on 2002's Brazilian masterpiece, "City of God".

Personal struggles continued, culminating in an accidental drug overdose. Lucky to survive, Adam took a sabbatical across Europe and East Asia. He returned to the UK (clean) and settled in London with his pregnant partner. He developed his writing craft whilst working in the city.

In November 2019, Wayne Henry (Former HBO Europe VP) discovered Adam on Instagram. He promptly optioned his horror feature script "Monstrous" to his UK/Europe production house, DramaWorks.

Covid hit, and cinemas shut. DramaWorks moved to focus on small-screen productions. Adam and Henry penned horror treatments and outlines for the UK and Polish TV markets during the pandemic while DramaWorks tried, but ultimately failed, to find a home for Monstrous.

Now available to the market, Monstrous has amassed 10 competitive accolades and has featured twice on the Coverfly Redlist Top 20 horror scripts. Adam is pursuing a permanent home for his prized asset.

His visceral, well-paced storytelling evokes the French and American new waves married with the grit of European social drama. His unique experience of trauma gives him the skill to pack a powerful, emotional punch whilst playing between the psychological and supernatural.

Adam has been clean for 12 years and lives in London with his partner and 2 children. He continues to write in his spare time. His next script is coming soon!
